Fitness 101: Improve yours

Taking care of your physical fitness is essential. The good news is that it doesn’t take hours each day to improve your fitness; but rather you can start off with just 5 minutes a day and build up to 30 minutes of activity each day to improve your health and prolong your life.

You might want to take the first step to a healthier and fitter you. Where do you even start? It is a daunting and intimidating process. Read reviews of fitness consultation first by their customers and clients so that you know what to expect, how they can actually help improve your fitness, and which ones are the best in your area. Real-world people have shared their experiences and insights on peer review websites such as Reviews Bird so others can make better informed decisions.

Tip #1:

Daily exercise – or as often as you can each week – will help you to keep your weight under control, build muscle, relieve stress, and increase your cardio fitness. It doesn’t mean you need to start running for 21.1 miles or cycle 50 miles; start off with a 5 minute to 15 minute walk. Build your fitness slowly and steadily to avoid any strains and injury. You only need to walk for a minimum of 30 minutes each day to vastly improve your health. For more than that, you will significantly increase your fitness and health. The key is to be active every day and avoid falling into the trap of sedentary lifestyles.

Tip #2:

Eating 5-a-day of fruit and vegetable servings will create a healthy and balanced diet to fuel your exercise activities and boost your metabolism. Fruit and vegetables contain high levels of vitamins and nutrients and are generally low in calories, so they won’t add to your waistline.

Tip #3:

Being strict on your exercise will count for nought if you’re not strict on your recovery and sleep periods. The body needs time to repair cells and build muscles. An adult requires 6 to 8 hours of sleep each night for optimal performance the following day. If you can squeeze in a 30-minute nap during your day, those are proven to help with weight loss and stress-relief.

Tip #4:

Motivation can taper off and disappear when the weather is poor or you feel that your exercise isn’t proving beneficial. Join a walking club, a gym, a fitness class or a group of friends. They will push you to keep on with your exercise goals, help you to keep track of your efforts, and encourage you to push yourself harder to reach your targets sooner.

Tip #5:

Staying hydrated is essential to improving your fitness. You should be drinking 2-3 litres of water per day to provide a balanced diet, but you should increase that by at least half a litre for every hour of exercise you perform. Your body requires water – and if you’re performing endurance sports – energy and recovery drinks for the added nutrients and vitamins required to sustain high intensity exercise efforts.
